

THE OWNER'S STORY
Ms.Laurie originally hails from New York City, attended the famous High School of Performing Arts (FAME), received her B.A. from the State University of New York at New Paltz, received a post-graduate secondary teaching credential from Metropolitan State College of Denver and began teaching in 1996 as a high school English and drama teacher. After having her own children, she fell in love with the magic of early childhood education, received a post-graduate elementary teaching credential and early childhood Master Teacher and Director’s permit. She worked with state funded preschool programs and built a career as a Program Director for Educational Enrichment Systems, King Chavez Academy of Excellence in the historic Barrio Logan community of San Diego, opened a Reggio Emilia home-based, large license preschool, and culminated her career as the Director of Early Childhood with the Del Mar Union School District.
When not working with and for children & families, she spends time with her family, two grown children, and three dogs.
