CHILD VISITATION MONITORING

A Children’s Studio

now offers professional Child Visitation Monitoring to support families.

A Child Visitation Monitor is a professional, neutral, trained, and background-checked (Trustline) third party individual who oversees court-ordered interactions between a parent and their child to ensure the child's safety and compliance with court orders. Monitors remain present at visitation, observe all parties, take detailed notes on behavior and interactions, and report any and all concerns to the Court.  Their presence provides a safe and structured environment for successful visits.  Monitors must adhere to strict professional standards and are “Mandated Reporters,” obligated to report any concerns of abuse or neglect to local child protective services agencies.  Monitors can supervise visits with non-custodial parents and/or other parties as designated by the Courts.  They also may supervise pick up & drop off exchanges from one one parent to the other.

The most important thing to understand about Child Visitation Monitoring is that the monitor’s sole responsibility is to assure the child’s physical, emotional, and intellectual safety.        Monitor’s may end visits IF they feel the child is in any  danger, feeling too much anxiety or if parties do not abide by the “rules of visitation.”

The monitor is bound by confidentiality (unless data is requested by the Court.)

Be assured, your child is the most important client a monitor can have.

The process of hiring a Child Visitation Monitor begins with the courts.  Once an order is in place, the Court may suggest a specific monitor, provide a list of local professionals, or suggest parents do an online search.  Then parents call or submit an online contact request. The monitor will call back for a free, 15 minute initial telephone consult.  Once the monitor is selected, both parents are required to prepay & meet with their monitor separately, for an in-person, one hour In-Take meeting.  At this meeting, parties will review the process, expectations, complete contracts, and provide required documentation to build a file.  Then, the first monitored visit can take place.

A Children’s Studio requires parties to schedule visits in advance, pre-pay for visits with a 2 hour minimum, and attend all scheduled visits on-time.
